Description

The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for transporting finished goods, materials, and components between the plastic injection molding manufacturing facility and the warehouse facility. This role requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and experience operating a forklift to load and unload trailers. The driver will also assist the shipping and receiving team as needed and must ensure compliance with all Class A CDL regulations, laws, and associated requirements.

Requirements

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Safely transport finished goods from the production facility to the warehouse facility using a Class A CDL.
• Transport materials and components from the warehouse to the production facility.
• Operate a forklift to load and unload trailers efficiently and securely.
• Assist the shipping and receiving team with tasks when not actively driving.
• Adhere to all Class A CDL regulations, laws, and compliance requirements.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness.
• Follow established routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including time logs, mileage, and any incidents.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse and production personnel regarding delivery schedules and any special instructions.
• Ensure the safe and secure handling of products during transportation.
• Respond promptly and professionally to any customer inquiries or concerns.
• Perform general maintenance tasks on vehicles, such as refueling, checking fluid levels, and reporting any mechanical issues.

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with appropriate endorsements.
• Clean driving record with no major violations.
• Forklift operating experience with proficiency in loading and unloading trailers.
• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to a specified weight limit) during loading and unloading.
• Familiarity with local routes and road regulations.
• Excellent knowledge of Class A CDL regulations, laws, and compliance requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Effective communication skills to interact with team members and customers.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate reliability and punctuality.
• Basic maintenance skills to perform routine vehicle checks and report any issues.
