IT Technician - Night Shift
Detroit, MI (Hybrid schedule)
W2 contract; 12+ Months
Hours: Night shift: 11:30pm - 7:30am Mon-Fri

Job Summary

The IT Technician performs a variety of routine to moderately complex tasks to support the stable operation of various in- house IT environments. Diagnoses, resolves and documents IT problems in a timely fashion. Assists in implementing changes to IT systems/networks. Shares technical knowledge within the group.

Key Accountabilities


  • Assists in the identification, analysis, resolution and implementation of solutions that assist clients in performing critical business functions.
  • Utilizes appropriate tools in order to monitor, install or repair a variety of IT-related equipment.
  • Provides planning and time estimates for work assignments.
  • May be required to participate in the writing of reports, documentation and technical proposals.
  • Works as a team member and utilizes team building skills when working with teams.
  • May assist with formal or informal presentations.
  • May assist with the development of training and information materials.
  • May aid in establishing benchmarks related to performance metrics.
  • Promotes continuous improvement philosophy and methodology that results in a continuous improvement culture within Information Technology. May utilize a variety of Operating System principles and tools to facilitate effective solutions that improve process design in all areas of the business.

Requirements


  • Communicates effectively both orally and in writing with individuals at all levels of the Corporation.
  • Solid customer support skills and telephone skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Must have the ability to recommend and participate in solution implementation in area of responsibility.
  • Understanding of IT industry e.g emerging technologies, industry standards, support services, architectures, systems design, and systems integration and demonstrated knowledge of area of responsibility and accepted IT processes.
  • Ability to follow defined processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a team, project and/or matrixed structure, supporting multiple clients and multiple assignments.
  • May be required to perform shift work alone/with limited supervision including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Degree in an Information Technology related field.
