Asphalt Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Superintendent to join our team. We are looking for a strong leader experienced with asphalt paving crews on highway and municipal road projects. FDOT Roadway experience preferred but not required.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Responsibilities include but are not limited to management of asphalt crews/foreman, planning scheduling, customer interaction, timely reporting of job progress to management and overall quality of the project.
• Must have a working knowledge of roadway construction and asphalt paving.
• Knowledgeable operating asphalt paving and milling machine in different modes, reviewing equipment condition and maintenance needs, and adjusting to different road variables.
• Tours job sites to ascertain progress in meeting time schedules, to detect insufficient utilization of workers and equipment and ensures slope and material thickness to verify compliance with contracts and to supervise the job.
• Ensures compliance with health, safety and environmental rules and guarantees the quality of project implementation. Controls the QHSE procedure, approves the quality plan, ensures compliance with the contract and requirements of the stakeholders, assures that equipment, systems, and components can be constructed without unnecessary delay.
• Takes responsibility for crew performance, including safety, adherence to company policies, and exceeding customer expectations.
• Is a strong advocate for promoting and maintaining safe working practices and adherence to company safety standards.
• Willingness to perform additional projects and duties as assigned to contribute to the overall success of the team.

Qualifications:

• At least 5+ years related asphalt and paving experience or an equivalent combination of education and training.
• Willing to workdays, nights, or weekends as needed.
• Detail Oriented with ability to timely complete all daily paperwork.
• Displays tactful, mature, and professional demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work with diverse personnel.
• Must be able to pass drug screening and background check.
• FDOT Advanced MOT Certification preferred.
