Southern California law firm looking for Probate Litigation Paralegal. Main office location in Riverside city. Experience of at least 3-5 years preferred but will interview and consider applicants with less experience. Position will involve answering calls from clients and prospective clients, assisting attorneys in drafting pleadings, helping with document recording, drafting probate/conservatorship/guardianship judicial counsel forms, assisting with trust administrations, and assisting attorneys with and managing general case loads. Must have experience with will and trust contests as well as elder abuse litigation. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, preparing judicial counsel forms, and comfortable with using database programs. Generous pay, includes 401k and health benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including discovery, trial preparation, and post-trial activities
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information
- Organize and maintain case files and documents
- Prepare and draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel for depositions and court appearances
- Manage calendars and deadlines for multiple cases
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records
- Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather necessary information
- Transcribe legal documents and correspondence
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a litigation paralegal or similar role
- Proficiency in legal administrative tasks and procedures
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures related to litigation
- Ability to conduct thorough research using various resources
- Familiarity with electronic filing systems and document management software
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
