What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a highly motivated, knowledgeable, and versatile individual to join our engineering staff. This role will focus on completing load ratings projects for our bridge owner clients. Tasks will include implementation of load rating/testing/evaluation project plan, coordination with clients, interpretation of data (client provided and field measurements), code-based calculations, creation and QC/QA of AASHTOware BrR models and results, and report writing. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a growth-oriented professional consulting group where you will work with and be mentored by senior technical staff on load rating projects, as well as various structural evaluation projects.


What You’ll Do:

Engineering Tasks

  • Development of AASHTOware BrR models meeting client specifications
  • Use of various design codes in computing structural capacities
  • QC/QA of AASHTOware BrR models developed by other engineering staff
  • Review and interpret project data so that conclusions can be drawn and reported to our clients
  • Development and QC/QA of load rating reports, models and other documentation required for submittal
  • Updating internal documentation upon project completion and provide lessons learned to team
  • When not working on load rating projects
    1. Assist with the development of instrumentation plans and testing documents to meet overall project requirements and scope
    2. Data processing and interpretation
    3. Structural evaluation of various tested/monitored structures
    4. Finite element modeling for model calibration and rating


What You Need to Be Successful:

  • Hands-on experience with load rating projects
  • Proficient experience with AASHTOware BrR software and exposure to other software and programming (MATLAB, Python, VBA, among others)
  • Proficient experience and understanding of AASHTO design codes, rating manuals, and other guidance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills that can address multiple audiences
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of structural mechanics
  • Additional experience in the construction industry is a plus

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 3-5 years AASHTOware based load rating engineering experience
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) required (licensed PE preferred)

Starting Salary Range: $72,500 - $90,000 per year (Based on Qualifications)
