Job Description

Optimus seeks an efficient and detail-oriented Senior Accountant. This is a full-time, salaried ($82,320-$92,880) position, to be based in Pittsburgh, PA. The successful candidate will assist the Controller in the daily processing of a variety of accounting and other financial related transactions, as well as account reconciliations, special projects and general process/internal control improvements as the company grows. Optimus is a fast-growing technology company; all employees must be self-directed and capable of managing multiple duties within the company. Responsibilities

• Complete month end balance sheet reconciliations.
• Complete monthly cash account reconciliations.
• Oversee bill and expense payment process, including manual check processing and automated ACH bill payments.
• Assist in the implementation of purchasing process with operations team, from PO creation to reconciling of incoming merchandise and vendor invoicing.
• Participate in annual budgeting process.
• Create various monthly journal entries to assist with 7-10 business day month end close.
• Assist with various tax related functions including customer sales tax status, multi state sales & use tax tracking, and submission of a variety tax returns and forms.
• Capture, classify and file permanent company financial records in a digital format.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for various agencies.
• Participate in and support various internal control process improvements to maximize efficiency.
• Assist in other special projects and/or duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• 4-6 years of relevant experience
• Significant experience with Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks Online, comfortable with Microsoft Suite, and G-Suite
• Attention to detail coupled with a sense of urgency and efficiency
• Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills; an ability and desire to take ownership of ones' workload
• Proven track record of successfully working independently as well as in a team setting
• Exhibits strong written and verbal communication skills, and an understanding of the importance of handling confidential information appropriately.
