Position: Lawn and Plant Health Care Manager
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: VP of Maintenance
Works With: Division Managers, Account Managers, Accounting, Administrative Staff, Crew foreman, Irrigation Technicians, etc.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lawn and Plant Health Care Manager to lead our team in delivering exceptional lawn care services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fertilization, pest control, and turf management, coupled with effective leadership skills to ensure the successful execution of our plant and lawn care programs.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Program Development and Implementation:

·         Develop and implement comprehensive fertilization and lawn care programs based on industry best practices and client needs.

·         Stay abreast of the latest advancements in turf management, fertilization techniques, and pest control to enhance program effectiveness.

Team Leadership:

·         Lead and manage a team of fertilization and lawn care technicians.

·         Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to ensure team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.

Quality Assurance:

·         Conduct regular inspections of work sites to ensure adherence to quality standards and program specifications.

·         Implement corrective actions as needed to address any issues related to fertilization, weed control, and pest management.

Client Communication:

·         Communicate effectively with clients to understand their specific lawn care needs and expectations.

·         Provide expert advice and recommendations on fertilization schedules, pest control measures, and overall lawn health.

Equipment Management:

·         Oversee the proper maintenance and calibration of equipment used for fertilization and spray applications.

·         Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and complies with safety regulations.

Recordkeeping and Reporting:

·         Maintain accurate records of fertilization and lawn care activities, including application dates, products used, and results.

·         Generate reports for management and clients to demonstrate the effectiveness of lawn care programs.

 

Required Qualifications:

·         Colorado Pesticide Qualified Supervisor License Required.

·         3+ years of relevant experience

·         Proven experience in fertilization, weed control, and pest management within the lawn care industry.

·         Strong leadership and communication skills.

·         Knowledge of local regulations related to lawn care and pesticide applications.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field

·         Bilingual communication

Work Environment:

·         40+ hours per week; Variable Snow hours

·         Exposed to year-round weather conditions

·         Frequently exposed to moving machinery and noise

·         Some heavy lifting may be required (+50LBS)

·         In and out of vehicles throughout the day

While performing the duties of this job the position is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The position frequently requires exposure to moving mechanical parts in tight, contained spaces. Encountering wet conditions in both extreme heat and extreme cold is often part of the position. Heavy lifting (excess of sixty pounds) and moving of materials may be required. Frequent driving is required. Noise levels in the work environment are moderate. We are a 100% drug free company.

Additionally, while performing the duties of this job, the position is regularly exposed to normal office environmental conditions. Noise levels in the office workplace are occasionally high.
