Job description

Responsibilities
Position Summary :
The Plant Operations Technician performs a range of facility maintenance tasks, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, inspections, preventive maintenance, and janitorial work with minimal supervision. The role also involves repairing and replacing equipment parts, troubleshooting and testing systems, and using independent judgment to assess and complete job duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; two years' experience in a related maintenance field, technical or trade school preferred.
Qualifications
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Perform all tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, preventive maintenance, HVAC and tests and inspections of the physical facility.
  • Clean kitchen grease traps and dispose of infectious/contaminated waste according to policy.
  • Complete preventive maintenance, inspections, and required filter changes on schedule.
  • Dismantles and examines parts in an attempt to solve equipment problems, repairs or replaces defective parts and makes necessary adjustments to ensure proper functioning of equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operational manuals and verbal instructions, machinery and technical equipment using hand tools, power tools and testing equipment.
  • Responsible for keeping tools and materials in good condition and in their proper location.
  • Report on any situations that may affect the health and well-being of patients, staff, or visitors. Monitors the supply of parts needed to perform job duties and inform supervisor/manager when inventories are low and need to be replaced.
  • Assist in any emergencies that may arise.
  • Support facility wide quality/performance improvement goals
  • Conducts Emergency Drills
  • Supports facility wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives
  • Participates in the on-call rotation with the other Technicians.
  • Drives a facility vehicle as needed to transport tools, parts, supplies, equipment, or personnel in support of hospital operations
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
