Job Description

IT Support Specialist

The IT Support Specialist is an integral part of the IT Team responsible for maintaining IT systems and help desk needs for about 500 people across county. The position is also responsible for systems and network administration needs as they arise with senior leaders on the team. This position will report directly to the Director of IT.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION:

  • Provide general help desk support for Desktop/Telephone systems and users.
  • Assist with Active Directory management.
  • Assist with troubleshooting problems with Desktop/Telephone hardware and software.
  • Assist in managing fixed asset inventory.
  • Investigate user problems, identify their source, test, and implement solutions and escalate to senior staff when required.
  • Assist in product evaluations, system administration, network administration, new installations, and security related tasks.
  • Assist in documenting troubleshooting procedures for systems, network, and phone issues.
  • Provide after-hours IT support and scheduled maintenance as required.
  • Assist with managing cell phone inventory.
  • Make sure data is kept properly up to date in multiple systems.

WORK EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Organization and attention to detail.

EDUCATION:

  • HS Diploma, College Degree preferred but not required.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• No Travel Required

• Office environment: The job may require lengthy periods of sitting, standing, telephone work, and computer work. Remote working options may be available.
