Validation Engineer HVAC

Job Summary

The Validation Engineer will primarily work on new product development (NPD) projects – HW and SW. They will ensure product performance, reliability, claims, and safety in product development from conception through production start. The Validation Engineer will lead product qualification test plan development and execution, interpret test results, and work with a cross functional engineering team to determine product improvement plans. They will work with SW developers in incremental verification of Mobile and Cloud-based applications. The ideal candidate has a passion for delivering products that delight end users and has an affinity for risk assessment to develop balanced performance test plans, specify test protocols, and interpret test results.

Minimum Job Requirements

• 3-5+ years’ experience validating product performance, reliability, and safety.
• BS or MS in ME, EE, or equivalent.
• Organizational skills in managing multiple projects/initiatives.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross functional project team.
• Experience in developing and executing validation test plans – both HW and SW.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Use of Jira and Testrail a plus.
• Practical Knowledge of Agile methodology (Scrum) and both iOS and Android applications.
• Experience with support of safety and quality standards (UL, CSA, CE, etc.) in a new product development process.
• Industrial/HVAC equipment experience preferred.

• Develop, plan, and execute product qualification testing needed to assure product function, reliability, safety, and compliance.
• Provide validation direction and requirements to product development teams.
• Assist engineering and quality in product improvement through validation of corrective actions.
• Participate in product design reviews – HW and SW.
• Compile and organize data to statistically validate product claims.
• Plan and lead iterative application SW testing on both iOS and Android platforms.
• Monitor and document compliance with safety and quality regulations.
• Release Production Start Authorization on time for each project.
• Follows all policies and procedures of Occupational Safety and Health, Human Resources and Quality Department.
• Reports any safety deficiency to immediate supervisor.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
