JOB TITLE: Special Events Project Manager

JOB DETAILS: This position is a key member of the Development team. The Special Events Project Manager is responsible for the entire events process. This individual will recommend, plan, manage, and implement corporate events, networking events, and annual fundraising events. He/she will work with the Camillus House board of directors, staff, and volunteers to plan, manage and direct efforts to attract private, corporate and foundation support in connection with fundraising goals and objectives for his/her area of responsibility.

Salary (Paid in US Dollars) :
Commensurate with Experience, $60,000.

Qualifications: Ability to understand and practice the mission of Camillus House.

Education: College Degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, or related fields.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional work experience in same or similar job role.
Language: Proficiency in oral/written English. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred; additional languages a plus (i.e., Creole).
Skills: Proficiency in computer (Word, Excel, other data collecting programs) and Special event, auction platforms and Bloomerang a plus.

• Excellent event planning skills, detail oriented, well organized, flexible, and decisive.

• Being able to juggle many tasks while maintaining priorities and reaching goals.

• Good judgment and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and cope with deadlines.

• Ability to identify potential problems ahead of time to have a flawless event.

• Team player.

Requirements

Successful completion of background screening, including but not limited to L2, OIG, and toxicology.

Valid FL Driver License with clean driving record.

Legally authorized to work in the United States.

ABOUT CAMILLUS: For more than 62 years, Camillus House has provided a variety of programs to address the needs of individuals who are mentally ill and suffer from substance abuse disorders, with the end goal of helping them achieve housing stability. One of the largest and most comprehensive non-profit providers of housing and services for the homeless in Miami, Camillus offers those served compassionate and professional care through our DCF-licensed and CARF-Accredited behavioral health programs and specialized outreach teams, and our staff a rewarding career that makes a difference.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, manage, and execute special events.
  • Develop, plan, and execute marquee fundraising events: Annual Gala and spring event The Auction and other smaller events as needed.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with corporate partners, organizations, and external vendors to provide in-kind services if feasible.
  • Work with the marketing team to develop promote the Annual Gala and The Auction.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage outside vendor contracts and service providers involved in two major fundraisers each year.
  • Manage event costs, maintain event budget, and provide detailed budget analysis and post event report.
  • Incorporate corporate look and feel and communication’s standards into all special events programs.
  • Responsible for facility arrangements, preparation, and signage, etc.
  • Ability to supervise and direct a large staff, including volunteers, with emphasis on teamwork.
  • Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also as a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside of Camillus House. Work extensively with the Chairman Emeritus of the Board, as event chair, to manage and execute both major fundraisers.
  • Responsible for developing promotional items in conjunction with events –including the selection of promotional materials, program books, power point slides amongst others associated with special events.
  • Help secure auction items (live and silent) for both signature events.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
