Prototype Assistant

SUMMARY:
This position assists the Pre-Press Manager by performing set-up and support functions in order to improve productivity of the Product Development Prototype Technicians
This position consists of staging and changing gravure (print) cylinders as needed, performing activities to support the screen-printing operation (emulsing, developing, organizing), set-up and operation of “Pony Roll” and Prototype embossers, maintains base film inventory, cleaning and organization of product development area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gravure Print Station Setup
- Stage, load and maintain gravure (print) cylinders for prototype stations
- Transfer tools, parts, equipment, and supplies to/from work stations
- Maintain and adjust equipment and machines with minimal supervision
- Clean or lubricate machinery, equipment and tools using hand or power tools
Screen Support
- Silkscreen preparation: receiving, inventory, organization, emulsing, developing (burning)
- Prepare screens for reclamation as directed by Supervisor
Pony Roll and Prototype Embossers
- Maintain organization of pony embossing rolls
- Load e-rolls into press
- Emboss samples and sheets as needed
Base Film Inventory
- Maintain the inventory of vinyl films
- Convert rolls of vinyl films into sheets for tech usage by use of the sheeter
Light Housekeeping
- Gather and empty trashcans and recycling receptacles in shop-floor area
- Keep floors and work areas swept, organized, and clear of debris
Other Duties as Assigned by Pre-press Manager
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
