ABOUT THE POSITION

Switchgear Solutions is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to be our financial accounting expert and manage the accounting functions of our business. We will expect this person to produce and maintain accurate financial records, while meeting reporting deadlines. You will work with others in the department to establish and recommend internal controls to support the financial wellness and integrity of the company. This position reports to the Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement systems and controls for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information, and managing accounting staff.

• Manage the Invoicing, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable functions.

• Review Account Reconciliations

• Assist with Monthly Sales Tax Reports for Multiple States

• Plans and coaches work of small team – enforces policies and procedures.

• Act as back-up to Bookkeeper on the team when necessary.

• Assist with year-end closing. Including 1099s.

• Contributes accounting information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.

• Schedules expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions.

• Monitor revenue and expenses; coordinate collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data.

• Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy and applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.

• Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation, enforcing accounting regulations, and recommending new procedures.

• Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

• Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed.

EXPERIENCE

• 3+ years managerial experience

• 6+ years accounting experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.

• Certified Public Accounting designation, a plus.

• Extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis.

• Excellent management and supervisory skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.

• Able to professionally and appropriately respond to frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.

• Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software – including QuickBooks, ADP, and others.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

• Thorough attention to detail

• Able to work independently and as a team.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer required.

• May need to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.

• Driving may be required in this role.

• Must be willing to confidently submit to the background and drug screening process.
