Enrichment Specialist

Credentials: Must have a current Tennessee teaching license and three years of successful classroom experience. Advanced degree preferred. Specialized training and experience in evaluating and selecting curriculum preferred. Leadership experience preferred.

Other Qualifications: Must have leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate collaboration, data-based management, and instructional integration. Must be able to plan and evaluate strategies for improving instruction and must have highly developed presentation skills to model those strategies for colleagues. Must demonstrate the ability to maintain a positive professional working relationship with others. Must have a proven record of excellence as a classroom teacher or academic coach with predictive characteristics of an outstanding administrator. Must be knowledgeable about research based instructional practices and be able to use that knowledge to build the capacity of ESP site directors, educators, and staff. Must be flexible in adapting to changing situations and circumstances. Must be able to analyze and use multiple forms of data to establish goals targeting student achievement and growth to guide PREP tutors. Must be highly organized, productive, and passionate about the development of others. Must be a continuous learner who is creative, innovative, and able to build highly effective teams focused on student learning. Must relate well to children, teachers, parents, staff, higher education, colleagues, the community, and people with diverse backgrounds/knowledge/skills. Must be able to follow and give directions, make decisions, demonstrate skills in group dynamics, analyze issues, problem solve, and create action plans. Must be a leader who is dedicated to the development 456456of the whole child, open communication, and collaboration.

Physical Demands: Must have and maintain physical, sensory, emotional, and mental abilities necessary for effective communication in person, in writing, and by telephone. Must have good memory, be able to organize thoughts and activities, do mathematical computations, and articulate clearly. Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends, participate in occasional overnight travel, and provide own transportation during performance of duty. Must be able to appropriately handle stress.

Essential Job Functions: The essential function of the of the enrichment specialist is to improve instruction, tutoring, and enrichments by assisting with the professional learning, planning, research, and modeling required to plan a wide variety of activities. Other essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

1. Provide customized support to meet unique student and staff needs through tutoring and enrichments.
2. Provide job-embedded professional development.
3. Model effective instructional strategies.
4. Collaborate with Site Directors, teachers, and staff to analyze and use multiple forms of data throughout the year to establish specific goals and strategies targeting student achievement and program effectiveness. Monitor and adjust progress towards those goals throughout the year so that continuous improvement occurs.
5. Work with principals and the district team to induct support and grow/extend the programs offered through ESP.
6. Make regular site visits to support improvement.
7. Provide feedback to site directors, teachers, and staff regarding implementation issues.
8. Work with staff to implement a coherent program and engaging quarterly enrichments aligned with the district's goals.
9. Monitor the 21st CCLC PREP tutoring program and ensure its fidelity.

Staff Relationship: Reports directly to the ESP Coordinator.

Terms of Employment: Ten and a half months. Specialist Index. Exempt.
