Position Overview

The Behavioral Health Supervisor will serve on the leadership team for Alternatives behavioral health services and programming. The Behavioral Health Supervisor will have experience managing teams and behavioral health services, and in quality assurance.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform the following from a racial, gender, sexuality, and ability equity lens:
  • Provide direct weekly task supervision, including monitoring and evaluation, to department therapists
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Supervisor to provide support and guidance in training new staff members, facilitating their smooth integration into the team and ensuring consistent onboarding processes.
  • Provide appropriate in-service training based on their assessed needs
  • Actively promote internal cross-collaboration between the Behavioral Health Team and Restorative Justice Teams
  • Work with therapists to manage budget lines related to direct service with program clients
  • Stay current with behavioral health best practices
  • Develop and maintain appropriate external partnerships and relationships
  • Administer relevant contracts including supervision of co-location staff, agency outreach, trainings, quarterly report writing, and presentations to market the service
  • Participate in organizational work groups to facilitate strategic development including but not limited to: MCO development, Southside site development, EHR implementation, etc.
  • Attend and actively participate in department and agency meetings
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Alternatives, Inc. policies, practices, and services
  • Assist the Behavioral Health Director and the Director of Finance to monitor annual programs and budget planning
  • Actively participate in all applicable staff and team meetings, professional development trainings and supervision meetings.
  • Represent Alternatives at relevant forums and events as assigned.
  • Participate in Alternatives’ fundraising initiatives.
  • Complete in a timely fashion all other duties as assigned.


Requirements:
  1. A master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a closely related field is required for this position.(must be license eligible)
  2. At least 1 year of experience in clinical supervision, program management and behavioral health practice
  3. Demonstrated success in clinical work to support clinical therapists in reflective, clinical, and administrative supervision
  4. Proficient in using technology as management reporting tool
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  6. Deep commitment to building a diverse staff engaged in significant work with youth and their families at a community-level
  7. Consistently learning and working within the following frameworks: Anti-oppression, Positive Youth Development, Trauma-informed and Balanced and Restorative Justice.
  8. Skilled at working with young people at high risk for juvenile justice and child welfare system involvement
