Social Group & Catering Manager

Primary Responsibilities

• Accountable for achieving established group room & catering sales goals as outlined by the Director of Sales. Responsible for weekly activity reports showing progress towards budgeted group, catering revenue, room rental revenue and banquet beverage revenue.
• Solicit, negotiate and generate contracted revenues from prospects that meet criteria established in the hotel business plan
• Prospect for new contract business using a wide variety of methods including phone calls, outside sales calls, attending community functions, internet prospecting, supplier partnerships, trade journals, etc.
• Negotiates with client regarding group rates, minimums, food & beverage pricing, function space, room rates and hotel services; confirms in writing in a timely manner to the client and all affected hotel departments all group requirements via group sales contract or banquet event order.
• Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.
• Develops relationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for group/catering sales opportunities.
• Provides excellent customer service in order to grow share of the account.
• Executes exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and ensuring their satisfaction before and during their program/event.
• Promptly follows up on all customer needs and inquiries in an efficient and expedient manner.
• Represents themselves and the hotel with the highest level of integrity and professionalism, a service-focused approach, and a caring, sincere attitude at all times.
• Exhibits a positive and involved team attitude to all hotel departments and maintains open communication with all coworkers for the best overall performance of the hotel.
• Displays a neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times.
• Internally communicate guest requirements, thereby insuring all information is accurate between guest and hotel staff
• Coordinate and participate in target market trade shows, sales blitzes, wedding shows
• Assists in the preparation of the weekly packet which includes the schedule of events and banquet event orders and resumes
• Data entry using Delphi, Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Conduct site inspections with potential clients, visiting guest rooms, meeting space and banquet facilities, as well as other hotel facilities.
• Assist the Director of Sales with weekly reports on sales contacts
• Other duties as requested or assigned

• Minimum of 2 years Catering Sales experience required in order to be considered.
• Hotel Catering or Group Sales experience preferred
• Prior Delphi experience preferred
• Attention to detail and organized
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills
• Must have availability to work nights and wekeends as needed
