Coastal Health & Wellness is seeking a Finance Manager!

The CHW Financial Manager performs administrative and advanced professional accounting in conjunction with District Finance. Monitors and assists with the overall financial operations of the clinic by maintaining and reviewing all accounting and financial reporting systems. Responsible for financial statement preparation and clinical month-end closing procedures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and assures all reporting requirements are adhered to. This role must have knowledge and experience with creating and managing financial and analytical processes, analyzing business information, scope definition, and be able to identify opportunities for reporting improvement.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience is required.
  • Experience in healthcare finance, operations, and data analytics highly preferred.
  • Experience in governmental accounting and/or governmental agency budgetary controls is highly preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant Licensee or candidate preferred.
  • Experience in preparing financial performance reports to interpret clinical utilization, provider productivity, variance to budget, cost and benefits, and other performance metrics.
  • Experience in preparing organizational and departmental financial statements based on a solid understanding of payer mix, government reimbursement, third party billing, and revenue cycle management.
  • Working knowledge of medical coding (ICD-9, CPT-4, etc.), FQHC, UDS, government reporting, RVU, and Medicare reimbursement methodology
  • Ability to research, analyze, and present financial information combined with large sets of clinical data including encounter, claims, and patient data to communicate economic trends and current issues to executives, managers, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Must have a positive attitude, enthusiasm, show initiative, and be self-motivated
  • Ability to perform a variety of assignments requiring the considerable exercise of independent judgment
  • Must be willing and able to work evening and weekend hours if necessary.
  • Must pass criminal background check and drug/alcohol screening.
  • Must be compliant with GCHD Immunizations policy and ICS training requirements.
  • Must possess or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Texas for the type of   

       vehicle or equipment operated.

  • Department of Motor Vehicle check may be required, if applicable. 

 

An equivalent combination of education and work experience which appropriately demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above described essential functions will be considered when hiring for this role. 

 

Traditional Duties:

  • Maximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Prepares internal financial statements on a monthly basis including variance analysis and as requested by the Supervisor and CHW Chief Operating Officer.
  • Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data and creating plans.
  • Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
  • Monitors general ledger activity by funding source.
  • Checks accounting operations daily and reviews for performance accuracy.
  • Reviews monthly Financial Status Reports by funding source and reports significant items.
  • Monitors all grants, foundations, and other funding sources for financial compliance with contracts.
  • Analyzes monetary resources and monitors fund disbursements to ensure Clinic has adequate funds for daily operations.
  • Oversees the accurate and timely preparation of all monthly, quarterly, and annual state or other funding reports.
  • Prepares grant and operating budgets.
  • Assists with classifying, coding, posting, and balancing internal financial accounting documents and reports.
  • Prepares monthly reports for Governing Board meetings and other financial reports as needed.
  • Performs accounting analysis for certain projects or grants as assigned.
  • Assists with bad debt write-offs.
  • Assists with closing General Ledger at year end.
  • Assists external auditors during annual audit.
  • Maintains accounting control systems to ensure assets are used appropriately.
  • Coordinates internal audits related to supply chain and billing department.
  • Develop business plans under healthcare settings, including but not limited to pro forma financial statements, cost analysis, ROI projection, project budgeting, and cash flow forecast.
  • Prepare financial performance report to interpret clinical utilization, provider productivity, variance to budget, cost and benefits, and other performance metrics.
  • Prepare organizational and departmental financial statements based on solid understanding of payer mix, government reimbursement, third party billing, and revenue cycle management.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to support shared goals.
  • Identify, develop, and implement new reporting needs.
  • Partner with stakeholders to provide ad-hoc reporting, training, and guidance on existing and new reporting.
  • Research, analyze, and present financial information combined with large sets of data including general ledger and clinical to assist stakeholder decision making.
  • Assist in reporting for Medicare Cost Reporting, UDS Reporting, and other required external report outs
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
