Job Description

Summary

In this role as a Operations Manager you will be responsible for leading the Operations Team to have an effective and efficient flow on a daily basis. You will be in charge of leading the Tracking and Dispatch departments while working collaboratively with the other departments as well. You will be a key contact for drivers and clients alike while working on a daily basis with the other offices and departments within the company to guarantee a smooth flow of operations.

You will also be responsible for overseeing the daily movement of the fleet, ensuring the efficient movement of goods and timely delivery to our customers. You will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team, analyze transportation data, and implement strategies to optimize efficiency. We are looking for an individual who is motivated, experienced and determined to maintain Expedited Trans high standards of operation while helping take the company to the next level of growth in its history.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Experience in freight trucking logistics industry is a must.
Proven Leader with experience in managing teams in house and remotely between 10-50 employees.
Experienced Operations Leader with 10+ years of experience.
Able to train, develop, hold accountable and lead assigned departments.
Building strong relationships with Drivers.
Experience with working on DAT, Truckstop or other major loadboards.
Has established relationships in the trucking industry.
Has experience working with large clients like USPS, Amazon, UPS, Fedex, Walmart, etc. and understands their SOP's.
Holding Drivers accountable for rules of the road according to company standards.
Communicating with drivers on a regular basis.
Strong negotiation skills (10 years of Sales and Negotiations experiencepreferred)
Experience in Dispatching is a must (10+ years of experience)
Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Knowledge of 3PL (third-party logistics) operations and logistics management principles
Experience (Min 5 year) working with drivers and shippers.
Great verbal, written and relational communication skills, with ability to appropriately interact with drivers, employees and partner vendors.
Understanding DOT regulations, HOS, expedited trucking standards.
Flexibility in Scheduling, available to work weekends if necessary.
Fluent in English and Spanish is a must.
Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
Special attention to detail & strong organizational skills.
Computer literate with expert working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook
Savvy use of logistics systems. Experience with using McLeod Software a plus.
Reliable form of transportation.
Reachable by phone or text on nights and weekends.
