Service Operations Lead - Ag Equipment
Location: Farley, Iowa | On-Site

CJ Beeps Equipment is Eastern Iowa's new short line equipment dealer and growing used equipment dealership, providing parts and service to farmers across the Tri-State area. Deeply rooted in the local community, CJ Beeps is committed to dependable equipment, honest service, and long-term customer relationships.
CJ Beeps Equipment is searching for a committed, self-motivated individual for the Service Operations Lead
to help keep the service department organized, responsive, and running efficiently at their Farley, Iowa location.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being the operational hub of a busy shop. The right person thrives on organizing moving pieces - technician schedules, parts coordination, work orders, and customer updates - while staying closely connected to the day-to-day activity of the service department.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys agriculture, equipment, and being part of a close-knit shop team, while using strong organizational and computer skills to keep the service department running smoothly.
Working closely with technicians, the parts team, customers, and the General Manager, this position plays a key role in ensuring work orders are accurate, jobs stay on schedule, and customers receive dependable service. CJ Beeps is continuously striving to improve so they can better support customers and their team.
RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to)
Service Operations & Workflow
Coordinate and manage the daily workflow of the service department, including monitoring shop activity, scheduling technicians, and staying informed on equipment repair status.
  • Open, update, and close work orders accurately and on time
  • Ensure parts, labor, and services are properly documented for billing and warranty processing
  • Schedule and assign work to technicians based on skill level, availability, and workload
  • Maintain clear visibility of:
    • Work in progress
    • Jobs waiting on parts
    • Work ready for completion or close-out
  • Monitor turnaround times and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce customer downtime
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping, labor reporting, and billing

Customer Experience & Business Development
Serve as a primary point of contact for service customers and help ensure clear communication throughout the repair process.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for service customers, delivering timely, professional communication
  • Work closely with the parts department to ensure parts availability and minimize service delays
  • Resolve customer complaints or disputes in a professional and timely manner
  • Build long-term customer relationships with a service-driven, sales-minded approach
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to support service department growth initiatives

Shop Coordination & Team Lead
Support and lead the technician team by helping coordinate workload, expectations, and day-to-day operations.
  • Schedule technician workloads and adjust priorities throughout the day as needed
  • Maintain visibility into technician capacity and shop progress
  • Partner with the General Manager to support technician performance and productivity
  • Assist with technician scheduling, time-off coordination, and workload planning
  • Foster a positive, team-focused work environment aligned with CJ Beeps' values

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of experience in agricultural equipment, mechanical service, logistics, or a related operational environment preferred (but not required)
  • Prior leadership, coordination, or shop experience strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational and computer skills with the ability to manage multiple moving parts
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technicians and customers
  • Ability to understand technical issues and translate them into clear next steps or work orders
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs as needed
  • Willingness to work extended hours during peak or seasonal periods
  • Availability for rotating Saturdays in coordination with the parts department

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
  • Pay: Dependent on experience, with room for growth and advancement
  • Schedule:
    • Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
    • Saturdays: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM (rotating schedule)
  • This is a fully on-site role; remote work is not available
