About our Client
Rewriting the Code (RTC) is a nonprofit organization committed to increasing student and early career women’s power in becoming the next generation of tech leaders. RTC has created a fast-growing, global community of over 25,000 women who are supported in their professional and personal growth through community, educational programming, and connections with RTC’s company partners.

About this Opportunity

I.D.E.As. (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Access) at Rewriting the Code
Over the past three years, RTC has developed and led multiple immersive and cohort-based experiences for Black, Latina, and Native/Indigenous (BLNA) collegiate members. These cohorts have focused on developing and demonstrating leadership skills, affirming racial and gender identity, and deepening one’s affinity for, and knowledge of, the tech industry.

BLNA-based programming and cohorts last anywhere from 3-12 months and take place virtually, in-person, or across a hybrid setting. These experiences run singularly and simultaneously. The DEI Programs Manager will oversee year-round cohort and non-cohort based programming and experiences. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in program design, student development, virtual engagement, and who unapologetically believes in disrupting gender and racial inequity in tech.
  Key Responsibilities Include
  • Collaborating with RTC company partners to develop new and innovative cohort and non-cohort based experiences and programs
  • Managing, promoting, and implementing I.D.E.As. programs, including associated budgets, that resonate with both students and industry
  • Coordinating student selection, leading program-specific orientations, managing program operations, and assessing programmatic outcomes
  • Serving as primary point of contact for program participants
  • Providing overall program coordination, including ensuring program impact data capture for funder reports and other administrative work
  • Serving as a team player for broader programmatic work when needed
  • Managing program and participant follow-up beyond each cohort/experience
  • Collaborating with marketing to create and highlight I.D.E.As. experiences into relevant content, including newsletters, blog posts, and social media updates
Qualifications Needed
  • Currently reside in or within a reasonable commuting distance to New York City.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Two to three years of post-undergraduate experience developing and managing professional development programs or curricula, working with employers/organizations, managing student programs, and/or organizing virtual and in person events and workshops (Graduate-level experience is OK!); a combination of experience in these areas will be considered as well.
  • Outstanding ability to engage and inspire college and early career women, primarily in the 18-24 age demographic, with an emphasis on inclusion, representation, and amplification of historically excluded voices.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring attention to detail.
  • Keen understanding of GenZ culture, trends, and points of view and how those features intersect with the workforce.
  • Innovative and contemporary thinker with creative problem-solving skills who can strategize the big picture, but can also execute the tactical requirements of projects.
  • Proficiency in Slack and other digital tools and platforms used for community management and engagement, or a willingness to learn.
  • Experience with HubSpot/marketing automation tools is a plus!
Additional Details
  • This position requires candidates to currently reside in the New York City or surrounding area with a reasonable commute.
  • Full-time position, typical business hours with some evenings to support local community events.

RTC is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity in all of its forms - on our team, in our partnership base, and within our community. More specifically, we honor, value and respect all types of diversity including, but not limited to, ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, religion, and ability.
