About Mobile Loaves & Fishes

Mobile Loaves & Fishes (MLF) is a social outreach ministry that has been empowering communities into a lifestyle of service with the homeless since 1998. Founded in Austin, Texas, the organization serves its homeless neighbors through three core programs: Truck Ministry, Community First! Village, and Community Works. Often referred to as the most talked about neighborhood in Austin, Community First! Village is a 51-acre master planned development that provides affordable, permanent housing and a supportive community for men and women coming out of chronic homelessness. We are now embarking on a new phase of community expansion, adding more than 1400 new neighbors over the next 5-10 years.


About the Role

The Relationships & Giving Assistant (RGA) will perform a variety of administrative duties as they relate to the department of Relationships & Giving. This position will perform general supportive duties to include but not limited to scheduling, coordinating meetings, answering Relationships & Giving phone calls, monitoring the donations email inbox, maintaining information in the CRM, assisting in donor cultivation and stewardship, and supporting the entire Relationships & Giving department as needed.


This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Director of Relationships & Giving (DRG) with guidance from the Relationship Officer (RO). Due to the nature and requirements of the position, hours are flexible to fit need, but typically include 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. Some nights and weekends may be required. The RGA will office at Community First! Village located at 9301 Hog Eye Road, Austin, TX 78724.


Duties & Responsibilities

Administrative

  • Monitor the R&G email inbox
  • Answer calls and respond to voicemails on the R&G phone line
  • Update/Maintain donor information in the Salesforce (CRM)
  • Support the DRG in scheduling and clerical duties
  • Coordinate R&G department meetings & take notes during meetings as needed
  • Maintain R&G file and document organization
  • Maintain and organize R&G supplies/ storage
  • Support recurring giving program through administrative tasks

Stewardship/Events

  • Assist in donor cultivation and stewardship
  • Manage the gift acknowledgment process
  • Support event planning, logistics and production
  • Support tabling efforts through supply/inventory management, and attend events as needed

General Support

  • Understand & support overall organizational as well as department goals
  • Support individual R&G teams as a shared administrative assistant
  • Act as a liaison with other departments as need to ensure accurate and up to date information is shared with R&G department
  • Assist in data collection and other research projects
  • Assist in developing projects for R&G volunteers
  • Attend regularly scheduled staff and R&G meetings
  • Other Duties & Responsibilities as needed

  • Undergraduate degree preferred, experience may substitute
  • Ability to be flexible in a dynamic working environment

  • Confident and skilled in Microsoft 365 suite
  • Ability to work joyfully and connect with diverse populations and organizations

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have patience, compassion, and professionalism
  • Salesforce experience is a plus
  • Asana or other project management tool is a plus
  • Must have a valid driver's license

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to stand, walk, and drive extensively while executing events
  • Ability to move across all phases of Community First! Village
  • Ability to lift up-to 30 lbs.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to travel in the local Austin region
