The Manager/Core System Operations is responsible for the management of the core banking system and ancillary systems including Document Management System, MRM, Workflow system, card issuance system, online banking interfaces and ATM technical management. This includes systems administration; automation and scheduling of core computing system tasks; system updates; core system case management and reporting; and management of the core systems support team. This individual seeks to fulfill and support guiding concepts embodied in the philosophy, mission, values, and vision adopted by the Credit Union.

This position has a starting annual rate of $115,500 but your offer amount may be increased with relevant work experience and transferrable skills.

A Day in the life of a ­Manager/Core System Operations can look like:

  • Supervise and provide technical leadership for the core systems and software support team members, including performing evaluations and hiring.
  • Work with team members to monitor cases, prioritize cases and assign requests to team members. Ensure completed assignments meet departmental standards and that documentation is complete.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management Office throughout the duration of projects to ensure project implementation objectives are met.
  • Maintain a general working knowledge of all applications and systems; act as primary technical contact with system vendors.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and evaluation of new releases of software. Execute performance testing and tuning as required. Know programming and query tools. Manage databases for optimal performance.
  • In collaboration with the AVP/Core Operations & Development, provide leadership in core system scheduling, administration and software support management.

What you bring to the table:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of IT experience.
  • 3 years of managing IT projects or systems
  • 2 years of experience managing a Jack Henry Symitar system
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated advanced logic and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated professional interpersonal skills for leading, motivating, and communicating with team members.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer, network, and security systems.

You might also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science-related field.
  • 3 years of experience in IT management.
  • 3 years of experience working in an IT environment at a financial institution.
  • 3 years of programming experience.
