If you are committed to making a difference, seek work with lasting impact and want to help build girls of courage, confidence and character who make Alaska and the world a better place, Girl Scouts of Alaska is hiring a Camp Director for Girl Scout Camp in Alaska. Pay for our Camp Director starts at $1,000 per week.


The Camp Director is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating programs for girls.  The position provides outstanding, engaging girl-led experiences. They develop camp programming and oversee camp. The position hires and supervises camp staff and oversees programming.  Please note that we are unable to accommodate pets at camp at this time.


You Are:

  • Committed to the policies and mission of the Girl Scout organization and willing to become a Girl Scout member.
  • Customer service oriented and able to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • A team player and able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Able to multi-task and adjust to changing priorities to meet deadlines, maintaining strong attention to detail while organizing and carrying out a multifaceted workload.
  • Able to tackle a problem by using a logical, systematic, sequential approach.
  • Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, staff and parents.
  • At least 25 years old.


You Need:

  • Interest in and two years of experience working with youth programming.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred. 
  • Successful experience in developing collaborative community partnerships
  • Understanding of and commitment to organizational diversity.
  • Knowledge of the culture and customs of the Alaska Native Communities is a plus.
  • Outstanding customer service and strong communication skills in written, verbal, and virtual delivery; experience developing and implementing action plans to meet/exceed deliverables; and experience working collaboratively to reach collective goals.
  • Strong computer and technology skills with the ability to learn new programs quickly.
  • Valid Alaska driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Capability to provide own transportation to the council office and to off-site locations.
  • Willingness to learn how to drive a 15 passenger van and a mini-bus.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications and willing to get Wilderness First Aid Certification.


You Will:

  • Work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Reside at overnight camp May to August (cabin provided).
  • Work at the Anchorage Council Office when not residing at camp.
  • Work independently with minimal oversight, effectively managing multiple projects while meeting deadlines
  • Use a variety of computer software to include Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Power Point, Word, and Excel), Salesforce and Looker platforms.
  • Manually operate office equipment.
  • Lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
  • Pass annual national criminal background check including a check of the National Sex Offender Registry.
  • Occasional domestic travel may be required.
