Job Description

Director for Launch and Pan-Brand is responsible for business strategies for all new indications up to LRR 1-2 in most cases and across all LRRs in others, and on-market promotions and capabilities Pan-brand across personal and non-personal channel and strategic capabilities.

Launches include new indications and communication opportunities across (i) V+X strategy for other combinations of Venclexta with other MOAs across indications (ii) HR-MDS - Venclexta + Azacitidine in HR-MDS in 2025 (iii) Maintenance Post-Transplant in1L Eligible AML - Venclexta + Azacitidine in 2026.

On-market promotions for 1VEN include development for promotional strategies, capabilities, and execution of above indication. Among many initiatives includes 1VEN platform, omnichannel integration across Commercial and Medical, Care Team Decision Maker engagement and digital approach to KOL advocacy.

This position reports to the Head of Marketing, Venclexta, and will lead a team of 2 people, with responsibility for employment decisions such as pay, performance reviews, and talent management.

Responsibilities:
  • Within AbbVie - work closely with US cross-functional partners and relevant indication leads in the US and OUS ensure synchrony with on-market indications.
  • Given Venclexta is a co-promotion, work with Alliance partner - closely collaborate with Alliance partner for the development and implementation of the annual strategic marketing plans, and budgets
  • For launches - Assess market size and structure, and landscape, perform competitive assessment and build initial strategic imperatives and if relevant expand to positioning, messaging and tactics
  • For on-market Pan-Brand needs - direct team in the development of business strategy and associated plan and capabilities, product budgets, and production forecasts to achieve sales and profit objectives. Proactively review and respond to changing market conditions to achieve financial objectives.
  • Resources, Expenses and Budget Management - reviews and ensure accuracy of all sales and expense budgets. Allocate appropriate resources to achieve goals and monitors expenses to ensure profit targets are achieved.
  • People Growth and Talent Management - Ensure development of marketing and management skills of direct reports. Specific skill development includes market and financial, sales and expense budget/forecast development and monitoring analysis, strategy development and effectiveness and efficiency in development/implementation of promotional mix. Provides professional development, coaching and performance management of the team. Hires and develops a highly functioning and effective team.
  • Customer-Centricity - Develops and maintains a customer focus that includes effective working relationships with key KOL customers, sales leadership, and cross functional stakeholders.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • MBA or other advanced degree in social science, life sciences, or quantitative analysis or related area is desired.
  • Minimum 10+ years of professional industry experience, including at least 3+ years in managerial positions at a medium-to-large health care company, preferably in global marketing functions within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Oncology launch experience helpful; overall launch experience is desired.
  • In-depth knowledge of pharma industry marketing, sales, and business development with established track record in managing industry-based marketing functions.
  • Experience working in or with alliance partner, global AbbVie colleagues, other functions, regions/countries highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and manage budgets.
  • Ability to travel 30-40% (Market Research, KOL visits, Conferences, Agency Workshops)

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
