Oxford Athletic Club is the most extensive private health and fitness club in the Pittsburgh area and is nationally recognized by International Health, Racquet, and Sports Associations (IHRSA) for excellence. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Health Club Sales and Front Desk Manager. This role requires a combination of sales expertise, customer service skills, and managerial capabilities to drive membership sales and ensure smooth operations at the front desk of our health club. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fitness, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a proven track record in sales and customer service. Fitness Industry experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive membership growth and meet sales targets.
- Generate leads through various channels, including outreach, marketing campaigns, and community engagement.
- Conduct tours of the facility to prospective members, highlighting the benefits of membership and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Follow up with leads and inquiries promptly to convert prospects into members.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns to attract new members and retain existing ones.
- Track sales metrics, analyze performance data, and generate reports for management review.
- Work very closely with marketing team on outreach efforts
- Customer Service:
- Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained at the front desk, including greeting members, answering inquiries, and resolving issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Train front desk staff on customer service best practices, product knowledge, and membership policies.
- Foster a positive and welcoming environment for members and guests, fostering a sense of community within the health. Front Desk Operations:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the front desk, including scheduling, staffing, and managing workflows to ensure efficient operations during peak hours.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as fitness, maintenance, and administration, to address any operational issues or requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the front desk area and ensure all equipment and supplies are stocked and in working order.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of members and staff.
- Administration:
- Manage membership database, including processing new memberships, renewals, cancellations, and updates.
- Handle financial transactions, including processing payments, balancing cash registers, and reconciling accounts.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to membership, sales, and front desk operations.
- Prepare regular reports on membership trends, sales performance, and operational metrics for management review.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in the fitness or wellness industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with customers and team members.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with CRM software preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
- Knowledge of fitness equipment and programs is a plus.
