SUMMARY

RMHC Security is responsible for providing a safe and comfortable environment for House guests, staff, volunteers, donors, and board members by giving attention to safety, security, hazard prevention, and general conditions of the Ronald McDonald House facility.  The RMHC Security is a full-time exempt employee that reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Direct Services

• Patrol both inside and outside premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion: and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates
• Answers alarms and investigates disturbances
• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of families, staff, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment of property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
• Call the police or fire department in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons
• Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when Family Services is not available
• Operate security cameras to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited vehicles or persons onto property or in unauthorized areas

• Promotes an atmosphere of warmth, understanding, and compliance with compassion; Maintains supportive and open communications with families
• Represents Chapter/House to various audiences in professional manner consistent with image and mission of this organization
• Supervises volunteers as needed
• Assists House guests to ensure they have items needed for cleanliness, grooming and nourishment
• Adheres to privacy and confidentiality policies about House constituents
• Practices conservation of household equipment (appliances, fixtures etc.) and supplies  Communicates supplies and equipment needs to the COO and/or Facilities Manager
• Provides first impression of RMHC for families, volunteers, donors, and other visitors
• Any other tasks, duties, or responsibilities as assigned
