Job Description

A local Western Outfitters is seeking a Retail Clothing Buyer to join their team! If you have previous experience in the Western wear world, we want to speak with you today!

Willing to help with relocation expenses!

Responsibilities:

A Department Manager/Buyer will spend a minimum of 20% of their workweek on the floor selling, merchandising products, and training the sales team. The remaining time of the work week will be spent fulfilling the duties of the buyer.

Manage and plan all aspects of retail purchasing for your department.
Manage, train, and supervise sales staff. Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances in a professional manner.
Develop monthly sales goals.
Responsible for all product sourcing procurement, pricing, and profit margins.
Responsible for visual merchandising, restocking, merchandise returns to vendors, markdowns, and shrinkage control.
Attend related product trade shows.
In conjunction with Marketing Department, develop and manage all retail advertising, and special promotions.
Develop, schedule, and promote in-store events and product demonstrations.
Monitor competitors’ sales activities by following their advertisements in newspapers, internet specials, or other media.
Meet with sales representatives and negotiate purchasing incentives such as additional discounts, co-op advertising dollars, and in-store events and product exclusivity.
Attend regular meeting with store Manager to review MTD and YTD sales, expenses, and projections.
Supervise the return and credit of unsold merchandise.
Supervise annual physical inventory.
Any other tasks assigned.

Requirements:

Must have Western wear retail buying experience.
Must be able to pass a drug screen.
Experience in a specialty retail environment as a clothing buyer preferred. Sound knowledge of retail business principals, cashiering, and inventory management procedures.
The ability to gather information about the market pertaining to your department, including monitoring competitors and customer preferences to feed into the buying decisions.
A Buyer must have exceptional people skills. The ability to communicate politely with customers and coworkers is imperative.
A Buyer is expected to be a supportive and cooperative member of a team of associates.
A minimum of 4 years retail buying experience is preferred in the clothing industry.
Be available to work at least 2 Saturdays per month and up to 50 hours per week.

9AM - 6PM

Monday-Friday

Pay Rate:

General Manager is willing to pay up to $85,000-$95,000 or more potential for the right fit for this opening.
28$/hour probationary period
