Retail Clothing Team Lead

Reports To: Thrift Store Manager                                                                                         Last Modified: 01/26

Role Overview:
Help Create Life Change Through Second Chances 

At New Horizons Thrift Stores, our cause is to help create life change through second chances, one purchase, one life at a time. 

As a Retail Clothing Team Lead, you help bring joy to thrifting through high-quality finds, fair pricing, and friendly service. You do this by leading daily clothing floor operations and guiding the team’s work so the department is organized, well-stocked, and guest-ready.

You are responsible for ensuring the right product is on the floor, maintaining strong presentation, and creating a positive shopping experience for every guest.

Additional tasks may be assigned at times by your supervisor. Consideration will be given to your current workload and duties.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Lead daily clothing department operations to ensure the sales floor is fully stocked and ready for guests
  • Ensure timely flow of product from processing to the sales floor based on floor needs and sales priorities
  • Make real-time decisions on moving, rotating, or pulling clothing to maintain strong presentation and sell-through
  • Set and communicate daily task priorities to clothing associates to support department goals
  • Communicate sales floor changes, inventory needs, and operational issues to the Store Manager
  • Identify and escalate workflow or capacity issues that impact department performance to Store Manager

Workplace Environment

Physical Conditions

  • Work is performed indoors in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Exposure to dust, cleaning supplies, changing temperatures, and used goods is common.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and repetitive movements
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally, either alone or with assistance

Work Schedule

  • Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Expect occasional evening, holiday, and weekend shifts.
  • A minimum of one evening shift and one Saturday shift per month will be scheduled in place of a regular shift.

  • Internet- Navigating the Internet to find information, including the ability to open and configure standard browsers; use searches, hypertext references, and transfer protocols; and send and retrieve electronic mail (e-mail).
  • Navigation- Using scroll bars, a mouse, and dialog boxes to work within the computer's operating system. Being able to access and switch between applications and files of interest.
  • Word Processing- Using a computer application to type text, insert pictures, format, edit, print, save, and retrieve word processing documents.
  • Databases- Using a computer application to manage large amounts of information, including creating and editing simple databases, inputting data, retrieving specific records, and creating reports to communicate the information.

  • Lead People- Taking leadership seriously and leading by example. Effectively able to coordinate people for assignments.

No previous training or experience required.

Compensation/Benefits:
Full-time

This is a non-exempt full-time position. Overtime pay rate applies for time worked over 40 hours per week. 
Paid Medical Leave, MEC, and Life Insurance are included, optional health benefits include Vision, and HDHP. Paid vacation begins to accrue after 30 days.
Compensation will be paid twice a month, on the 7th and 21st of each month.
