Sr. Director, Strategic Planning and Enterprise Risk Management

The Sr. Director of Strategic Planning and Enterprise Risk Management t will play a dual role within Radial, serving as the organization’s key strategic partner specific to merger & acquisition needs, financial management, investments, risks and opportunities with a focus on driving key strategic financial processes as well as enterprise risk management (ERM) leader and connection point with bpost, our parent company.

Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning

  • Drive comprehensive business plan recommendations to commercial teams and project owners.
  • Support the translation of strategic plans into operational business plans and financial plans that support local market strategy and priorities, ensuring that commercial activities are aligned.
  • Provide insightful analysis to support the conversion of the consumer journey into financials and integrate it into the business plan.
  • Monitor and own business performance (for example, KPIs, competitors’ activities, volume trends) and translate insights into financial forecasts and recommendations.
  • Drive the development of financial models/scenarios and ad hoc financial analysis to support management in their decision-making.
  • Analyze channel performance and profitability.
  • Support the preparation of presentations and reports aiming to give a clear and comprehensive reading of the business to stakeholders in the organization.

Merger & Acquisition Support

  • Provide leadership and drive efforts to achieve growth through mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; oversee activities to determine the feasibility of possible mergers and evaluate the potential impact on the corporation’s growth and profitability.
  • Provide M&A thought leadership and expertise to strategically drive improved financial and business results.
  • Lead M&A project management processes including due diligence, financial planning, scoping, closing, and integration.

Enterprise Risk Management

  • Develop and maintain the ERM framework/policy concerning both strategic risk management and operational risk management.
  • Coordinate and support strategic risk assessment, align risk appetite, and consolidate the results at the company level.
  • Identify transversal risks that require a coordinated approach and ensure a mitigation plan together with the risk owner.
  • Ensure an operational risk monitoring program is in place by selecting key processes in scope and defining the set of minimum controls that need to be implemented in line with a validated risk appetite definition; coordinate and oversee the implementation of the minimum controls; perform quality checks on the design and documentation of the locally implemented controls to comply with the minimum controls; coordinate and oversee the process of the yearly IC statements.
  • Ensure coordination of the BCM (Business Continuity Management - the management process to oversee and implement strategies to address the risk of unexpected disruptions or crises and minimize the impact on business operations) and related Business Continuity Plan that the organization develops to perform the necessary actions to recover from unexpected disruptions and resume normal operations again.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance with marked experience in strategic financial planning and analysis 
  • 5+ years of experience notably implementing finance & risk management frameworks and processes and some experience in M&A support. 
  • Relevant experience working in a complex, preferably multi-national, stakeholder environment that includes complex customers and regulators.
  • Ability to operate effectively within formal corporate governance frameworks (Risk Committee, Regulatory framework)
  • Experience presenting and communicating at executive levels.
  • Ability to demonstrate strategic vision and business understanding.
  • Effective ability to influence stakeholder community at all level and effective communication skills to deal with large
  • diverse customer base, internal and external.
  • Open and collaborative management style while maintaining independence.
  • Required expertise for the function: Risk Management and Internal control expertise.
  • Technical knowledge required to perform the function: Risk Management, Internal Control, MS Office, GRC tooling.
