Position Overview: As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role on our team, assisting physicians, nurse practitioners and medical staff in delivering excellent patient care. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history, and confirming chief complaints
Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; and reporting patient history summary. - Assisting physicians with the patient examination, procedures and drawing blood, and laboratory testing.
- Collaborates with providers and clinical care team to monitor and coordinate delivery of patient care plan.
- Follow protocol and established guidelines for infection control (sterilization of instruments, handling of pathogens and bodily fluids, disposal of hazardous waste
- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; and keeping patient information confidential.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
- Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
- Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

- Administer vaccines and other injections within the scope of the practice.

- Knowledge of clinical procedures, medical anatomy and physiology
Education and Certification:
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA)
- Or Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA or CCMA)
Experience:
- 1+ years in a medical office
- Previous experience in specific medical field preferred

Salary: Compensation is a starting wage based on experience, merit increase is evaluated at 90 days then yearly.
