Security Field Supervisor

Position Summary

Benford Protection Group’s (BPG) Field Supervisor, who holds the rank of Captain, is responsible for overseeing BPG day to day field operations which encompasses a holistic approach to the safety and security services provided in an effort to protect all clients, employees and company assets. Enforce policies and procedures for all accounts under the protection of Benford Protection Group. Managing staff to ensure all accounts meet contractual obligations. Delegate authority and assign responsibilities. Investigate incidents and/or customer complaints and compile data for accurate reporting. Perform personnel and site inspections ensuring all Officers on duty are in compliance with the policies and procedures set forth by Benford Protection Group, this includes but not limited to verifying Officers have the following required credentials Firearms control card (FCC/Tan card), Permanent Employee Registration card (PERC/blue card), Company ID, Firearms owners Identification card (FOID) and State Identification. Provides after-hour emergency response as required. This is a second shift position. Must be available on the weekends.

Responsibilities and Duties

Ø The following are examples only and are not intended to be all inclusive or restrictive; other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Ø Provides supervision of Security Officers and Site Supervisors on duty daily.

Ø Responsible for the proper execution of assigned duties.

Ø Trains new officers.

Ø Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Benford Protection Group policies and applicable laws.

Ø Planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Ø Maintains a high level of professionalism and conducts themselves in a manner that does not negatively reflect themselves or Benford Protection Group.

Ø Maintains regular, consistent attendance record.

Ø Ensures personal accountability by familiarizing themselves with and adhering to all rules and regulations, policies and orders set forth by Benford Protection Group.

Ø Provides protection for the clients of Benford Protection Group.

Ø Provides overall protection of company assets.

Ø Interacts with residents and Property Management in a professional manner.

Ø Interacts with local law enforcement agencies as required.

Ø Assist in operating the timekeeping system.

Ø Attends, and satisfactorily completes all required training as assigned and required.

Ø Performs other duties as assigned.

Ø Delivers and picks-up assigned documents for the Director of Human Resources and the Director of Operations.

Ø Understands that every officer should be in complete and regulated uniform daily.

Ø Should completely understand and comprehend the post orders for every account assigned.

Ø Must be coachable and adjust to new policies as they are created.

Ø Must respect the chain of command.

Ø Must be fair and unbiased when it comes to discipline/coaching.

Ø Performs other duties as assigned.

After Hours Emergency – Hours that are not a part of the normal schedule, which are assigned by the Director of

Skills Required

Ø Builds trusting relationships with staff and clients.

Ø Must be able to read and write in English.

Ø Has knowledge of local jurisdiction laws (federal, state, etc.) as well as company policies, and procedure.

Ø Must possess the ability to be objective in their decision making as it pertains to employee relations.

Ø Must possess the ability to clearly articulate expectations using written communications as well as verbalization.

Ø Must have integrity and basic desire to protect and serve.

Ø Is strategic and helps others by communicating often including providing rationale and vision for changes.

Ø Actively listens and seeks to understand.

Ø Must prepare written statements and investigations in a logical and grammar correct manner.

Ø Must be able to work any shift including weekend, night and holidays; and/or work extended hours if required.

Ø Must be self-motivated and willing to work with others.

Ø Must possess a positive attitude.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Ø Must have a high school diploma or GED.

Ø Some college preferred

Ø Must have valid driver’s license

Ø 3 years’ experience as an Unarmed or Armed Security Officer or Security Supervisor, or related experience in a customer service industry, like retail or hospitality

Ø Able to acquire and maintain a valid Illinois Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC), FOID card, and Driver’s license, including state accredited training requirements.

Ø Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Ø Able to read, write, speak, and understand English

Ø Able to meet physical essential functions of the job, which can include lifting 75+ lbs, completing foot patrols, walking up and down stairs, working in inclement weather

Ø Proficiency with Microsoft Office software

Salary: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
