Litigation Paralegal

Our client, a reputable, full service AmLaw200 firm, with a new office in Nashville is seeking a talented Litigation Paralegal to join their growing team. The firm has offices throughout the southern united states and their midtown Nashville location is close to Centennial Park. Responsibilities:

Index, organize and analyze legal and other documents.

Prepare and file court documents.

Under the supervision of an attorney, draft pleadings, contracts, certificates, etc. Issue subpoenas.

Coordinate and participate in document production.

May assist with witness preparation and attend depositions as required. Assist with trial preparation and may attend and assist the attorneys during trial. Prepare deposition summaries.

Obtain information using the Westlaw and Lexis systems.

Communicate with clients, court personnel, experts, attorneys, and others by telephone, in person and in writing, obtaining and giving information as directed.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must have a High School diploma and at least three (3) years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant/secretary in a position involving significant decision making responsibility.

Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.

Must be competent in the use of computers and Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point and Microsoft Outlook.

Must have the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing

Must have excellent organizational skills

Must have can-do attitude (no job is too big or small), and be organized and efficient.

The preferred candidate will have state and federal litigation experience, specifically in commercial and/or business litigation Areas of litigation.

A college degree and/or paralegal certificate is also preferred.
