Job Description

Families in Recovery Program:

Liberation Programs' Families in Recovery (FIRP) is an inpatient program in Norwalk, CT for pregnant and parenting women with children. FIRP has been in existence since 1994 and is unique in our region. It is the only inpatient treatment program for pregnant and parenting women in Fairfield County. Mothers can have up to two children ages birth to 10 years old, and FIRP is the only inpatient program in Connecticut where mothers can bring two children up to the age of 10 into the program with them. FIRP is gender and trauma sensitive with an emphasis on individual and family needs. Throughout treatment, mothers are supported in managing challenges related to substance use disorder (SUD), building, enhancing and maintaining life skills, peer-to-peer support and accessing resources to provide safe, nurturing homes for their children and themselves as they prepare to transition back to the community.

Job Purpose/Function: Manage the day-to-day operations of the program/ unit, including, but not limited to providing supervision and guidance to the counselors, conducting regular chart audits, managing and organizing the treatment and staff schedule, and ensuring reports and data entry is timely and efficient. The Clinical Supervisor will assist with managing client crisis and grievances while ensuring proper procedures are followed. Shared on-call duties with program leadership may be required.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervision

  • Supervise counselors.
  • Conduct and document regular individual and/or group supervision sessions with counselors.
  • Conduct and document chart audits.
  • Oversee and manage staff schedule to ensure adequate facility coverage at all times.
  • Review & approve timesheets.
  • Coordinate time-off requests, including vacation and or personal leave.

  • Oversee day-to-day operation of program

  • Manage and organize treatment schedule to ensure treatment services are consistent.
  • Review and sign all supervisory forms (admission, discharge and individual planning forms, treatment plan)
  • Ensure that all financial reviews are timely and accurate.
  • Assign and manage caseloads.
  • Review and co-sign all correspondence leaving agency for appropriateness, including court reports, DCF reports etc.

  • Data Entry

  • Review all information regarding OTR’s to ensure information is timely and accurate
  • Review all DPAS reports on a regular basis to ensure data entry is complete and accurate.

  • Clinical Duties:

  • Maintain a caseload based on program expectations
  • Facilitate individual, group and family sessions
  • Document results of all sessions in a clear, concise, and timely manner
  • Submit all appropriate documentation to financial department in a timely manner
  • Complete treatment plans and treatment plan reviews

  • Organizing Meetings

  • Facilitate staff and case conference meetings in the absence of the facility Director.
  • Assist in the facilitation of meetings, as requested by the Program Director, including but not limited to developing the agenda and presenting ideas.
  • Facilitate events with input from the counselor and or client committee.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Must have a current license from the state of CT (LCSW, LMFT, LPC or LADC preferred)
  • Must have a minimum of two years of supervisory experience
  • Must have a work history that demonstrates clear leadership, accomplishment, the ability to get work accomplished on time, on budget and within predetermined specifications
  • Must have strong oral and written communications skills along with the interpersonal skills to work effectively at all levels of the organization and its stakeholders
