Job purpose

Mountain West Consulting’s Senior Planners have strong technical capabilities and extensive industry experience in their respective fields and can offer practical and applicable advice that will help our clients achieve tangible and lasting improvements in their performance. They will conduct:

Duties and responsibilities

The following are intended to be examples of the responsibilities for the person in this role. This position description is not intended to be complete or all-­-inclusive and does not preclude management from assigning other or related functions if such functions are a logical assignment for the position.

• Development of LOTO packages for the APS Capital Construction Team

• Create listing of Preventative Maintenance for all new equipment installed as part of a Capital Project

• Create listing of all new Capital Spares and Obsolete Parts.

• List of Critical Spares that need to be ordered w/ recent quotes and contact information for Planning to order.

• Schedule regular meetings with the Gas and Oil and System Planner to ensure they understand the follow:

o New equipment installed.

o Listing of new spare parts required

o Listing of new preventive maintenance activities for the new equipment installed for the capital project

· Review Current Preventive Maintenance Plans for the system to determine which ones need to be updated by planning

· Generate Capital Plant support work orders for all projects. Example E&I commissioning work order

· Assist with the outage planning and execution development

· Prior to construction gather documentation needed to pass along to training to develop pre-in-service trainings

· Maintain a list of turnovers with PM’s and Cm’s so proof of submission and transmission can be recalled

· Develop internal process with leadership team that can be duplicated to ensure proper turnover of information is completed, verifiable, and researchable over time.

· Provide weekly updates to PM’s, Supervisor, and APS CM on status of all turnovers, collaboration with support departments, and work in progress

· Create a binder which has the following information

o All new warehouse spares w/ documentation that need to be created by planning

o All new preventative maintenance activities that need to be created

o All preventative maintenance activities that need to be removed from the system were superseded by new PM

o All necessary Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) documents

• Manage the Capital Project Closeout Process for all projects

• Work with the Engineering group to follow up on close out activities of the projects

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is helpful. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security pre-employment background check.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must have five (5) years of planning experience in utility or related industry.
  • Must have ability to deal effectively with communication with a variety of departments and levels of management.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to plan projects and jobs, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Must be a dynamic individual who is client-oriented while keeping the company’s interests in mind.
  • Experience with Maximo is preferred. Experience with other computerized maintenance management software is helpful. Experience with scheduling software is preferred.
  • Self-motivated individual that possesses excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Works with senior management to resolve more complex problems.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, relationship building skills and ability to achieve results without direct reporting relationships
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to present a polished, professional, and diplomatic image to all stakeholders

Preferred Knowledge

  • Proficiency in Microsoft software i.e.; MS Projects, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Oracle Primavera P6
