Status: Part-Time
Location: Kotzebue, AK
Position Summary:
The CDL Driver will operate heavy and specialized equipment for various construction jobs.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for fuel and upkeep during the day-day operational use of equipment.
- Inspect equipment daily to assure it is in proper condition to operate. This inspection shall include at a minimum; fluid levels, brakes, tires pressures or track tensions, leaks and proper operation of hydraulic systems.
- The operator will report truck conditions to KIC Shop.
- Complete all work orders and tasks assigned in a timely manner.
- Comply with all company policies and applicable federal, state and local laws and safety standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Alaska CDL with clean driving record.
- Proof of current DOT Physical Card.
- Pass a DOT approved Drug Test and background checks.
- Prior experience with safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment and observance of traffic laws and regulations.
- Experience operating heavy and specialized equipment.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds or less.
Working Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a fast paced multi-tasking environment requiring regular attendance of 40 hours per week. Work may require occasional overtime. While performing job duties, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

- Required to work standing up, walk, use hands and fingers to operate tools, vehicles, and equipment
- Speak and listen, both over the phone and in person to customers and co-workers
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally required to work in a seated position, climb or balance and taste or smell.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 75lbs, and occasionally lift and/or more 75-100lbs.
- Vision requirements include: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
