Job Summary:
Newly Weds Foods is a global ingredient manufacturer providing premium products to some of the biggest brand names in the country! The R&D Lab Assistant is responsible for preparing samples, raw materials inventory, analytical testing and supporting the Research & Development department Food Scientists. This position is Monday through Friday for first shift.

Essential Functions:
- Prepare blended and baked samples for external and internal customers.
- Maintain a lab inventory of raw materials and work-in-progress materials for use in sampling and blend preparation.
- Pull and ship raw materials and finished goods to external and internal customers as requested.
- Verify scales or other laboratory analytical equipment and maintain documentation.
- Conduct analytical tests on sample blends as assigned.
- Assist in packing and shipping materials for outgoing sample requests.
- Provide back-up support for R&D labs at other Newly Weds Foods locations.
- Maintain file documentation for incoming and outgoing shipments, batch sheets and blend & bake logs.
- Procure substrate materials as well as other necessary sundry items for the maintenance and functioning of the laboratories.
- Pick up and deliver various items needed by the R&D group. These items may include product samples, ingredients, parts, groceries, or supplies etc.
- Drive to various vendors, production plants, stores, and warehouses.
- Maintain a clean working area and assist with sanitation and maintenance of R&D laboratory and storage areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills and general knowledge in Adobe applications, MS Office, AS400 and Lotus Notes.
Work Environment:
- General Office Setting, Production Floor, and Standard Laboratory Environment.
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, squat, twist, and climb stairs for extended periods of time during entire shift.
- Must be able to repetitively lift 25 lbs.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
