Senior Staff Accountant

We are seeking a motivated Senior Staff Accountant with experience in within the oil and gas industry to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and financial analysis, as well as a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the oil and gas sector. As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting our financial operations, including fund accounting, portfolio company valuation, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for our private equity funds and portfolio companies.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including reconciliations of general ledger accounts and review of trial balances.
• Support the valuation of portfolio investments, including conducting research, analyzing financial data, and preparing valuation models.
• Assist with the due diligence process for potential acquisitions and divestitures, including reviewing financial statements, contracts, and other relevant documents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including investment professionals, legal counsel, and external auditors, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to private equity and the oil and gas sector.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with exposure to private equity and/or the oil and gas industry preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques, with experience in portfolio company valuation preferred.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, such as Oracle or NetSuite.
