Senior Software Engineer

3dB Labs is seeking an experienced senior software engineer who loves to solve challenging digital signal processing problems. The ideal candidate is creative, smart, and able to work effectively on their own or with a small team. Our work provides the opportunity for a unique mix of theory-based algorithm development, implementation of software-based high-performance processing solutions, and integration with high-end RF equipment. Our work environment is dynamic and fast-paced with a focus on quick-reaction responses to our customers' needs. Our products are technically compelling, operationally relevant, and deployed around the globe. Our employees are typically BS/MS holders in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or computer science, but we will consider anyone with demonstrated skills and interest in software development and/or signal processing.

Responsibilities:

• Develop software algorithms and programs utilizing multiple programming languages, software libraries/platforms, and hardware
• Participate in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SLDC) including, but not limited to: Designing, Developing, Testing, Documenting, and Maintaining software solutions.
• Act as a technical lead for junior engineers, performing duties such as code review, design review, and mentoring,
• Working in an Agile-like development environment including sprint planning, grooming, and sprint demos
• Work closely with product managers, technical architects, and other stakeholders to build requirements, clarify technical specifications, and provide development estimates.

Experience:

Required                     

• 7+ years of C++ experience, including experience with C++11 or newer in a professional capacity
• 3+ years of Python experience
• 2+ years of SQL/Database experience
• GUI development using Qt5 or a similar framework
• Development of software for Linux operating systems
• Experience leading other engineers in technical aspects of software development

           
Desired

• Development with C++17 or newer
• GPGPU software implementation using CUDA
• Digital signal processing and signals and systems theory
• Background in software defined radio and digital communication theory
• Working knowledge of communication systems design and/or RF system design
• Algorithm implementation using multithreading and SIMD techniques, mostly on x86 platforms
• Proven strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently with freedom to develop your own creative technical solutions to our problems
• Current or past US security clearance is a major plus
