The Fiscal Department seeks a dynamic individual to join our Grants Management team in our Bronx location. The Budget Analyst provides financial and programmatic performance information to management by researching & analyzing data and preparing reports. The Budget Analyst maintains journals, ledgers, financial statements, budgets, program statistics, reports, and contracts under the general supervision of the Budget Director.
The scheduling for this position is hybrid with WFH flexibility; however, the schedule is subject to change with or without notice.
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Allocate funding sources in the HRIS system.
- Monitor the budget status, providing monthly budget vs. actual reports to the Program Directors.
- Meet periodically with Program Directors to measure progress and address over or under spending.
- Work with the Program Analysts and ensure accurate tracking of performance data and timely performance reporting to funders.
- Work with management to secure financing for the organization by assisting in preparing and reviewing Requests for Proposals and grant applications; develop budgetary recommendations.
- Participate in interdepartmental meetings to provide financial and budget data.
- Ensure that financial reports and vouchers are accurately prepared and submitted promptly.
- Ensure that the Osborne Association complies with all fiscal regulatory and legal requirements.
- Perform other duties as required
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
Experience
A minimum of two years of experience in the not-for-profit sector analyzing financial data and preparing vouchers
Additional Skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage time and resources in a fast-paced environment with many deadlines
- Strong Microsoft Office and knowledge of database
- Grant Accounting a plus
