Shipping/Receiving Inventory Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

Quantum Technologies is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Inventory Specialist for our Huntsville, AL corporate office. Responsible for verifying, tracking, recording, and maintaining records on all incoming and outgoing shipments for the facility.

Prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.

• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Determines method of shipment
• Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons. Uses strapping equipment that binds containers with metal tape.
• Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers. Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage
• Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages and routs items to appropriate department(s)
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
• Individual will be responsible for maintaining an organized and clean shipping and receiving area.
• Operates hand trucks and pallet jacks to move, incoming and outgoing shipments to their proper destination.
• Individual will maintain overall Inventory of company products and merchandise, in addition; will also maintain inventory of all shipping materials and supplies.
• Other duties to be performed as assigned and related to shipping /warehouse and company needs.

Requirements:

• Individual should have a high school degree or equivalent GED. An Associate degree is desired.
• Individual should have a minimum of 3 years of consistent Shipping/Receiving and Inventory experience.
• Individual should have good oral and written communication skills along with good organizational abilities.
• Experience with hand tools and good mechanical aptitude is desired.
• Experience with using shipping /receiving software, MS Office Outlook (email)
