Barista/Bartender

This Apotheos Coffee location is within the Elevance Health building at 740 W. Peachtree. It will serve the general public as well as the building’s Tenants. This location serves craft coffee, savory and bakery items, and alcoholic beverages (wine, beer, and cocktails). Therefore, we are hiring for Baristas/Bartenders. Please see below for each description and note which position you prefer.

Individuals who have Barista and Bartending experience or an interest in learning both are preferred for a hybrid Barista + Bartender position.

Part and Full-Time positions are available.

Hours of Operation will be Monday to Thursday 7 AM to 7 PM, Friday: 7 AM to 4 PM.

BARISTA ($15/hr + tips)

Baristas will be expected to educate customers about the menu (i.e. coffee drinks and savory/bakery items), take and fulfill orders, make recommendations based on customers’ preferences, and promote special items. Ultimately, you will be responsible for providing a high quality coffee experience.

Duties

• Greet customers as they enter
• Guide customers through the menu and answer any questions pertaining to our offerings
• Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. coffee preferences, dairy/sugar ratios, food allergies, modifications, etc.)
• Prepare beverages following recipes
• Serve beverages and prepared food (i.e. bakery and savory items)
• Receive and process payments
• Follow standard operating procedures related to safety, hygiene, and other necessary procedures
• Monitor inventory; communicate inventory needs with management
• Inspect equipment regularly and report any maintenance needs
• Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items

Requirements and Preferred Skills

• Previous Barista experience preferred; interest in learning barista skills
• Hands-on experience with coffee equipment preferred
• Knowledge of sanitation regulations is a plus
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• Basic math skills
• Ability to adjust to customers’ preferences
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• High school diploma; relevant training is a plus

BARTENDER ($15/hr + Tips)
Bartenders will be expected to educate customers about the menu (i.e. alcoholic beverages and savory/bakery items), take and fulfill orders, make recommendations based on customers’ preferences, and promote special items. Ultimately, you will be responsible for providing a high quality onsite experience.

Duties

• Greet customers
• Take and fulfill orders
• Make recommendations and answer customers’ questions
• Check identification of customers to verify they are of legal drinking age
• Record drink orders accurately into POS
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes
• Peel, slice, and pit fruit for garnishing drink
• Promote drink and food items to customers
• Respond promptly to requests from customers in a polite and professional fashion
• Strictly follow all alcohol related procedures (i.e. verify IDs, and limit excessive drinking)
• Comply with all health, safety, and hygiene standard operating procedures
• Monitor inventory; communicate inventory needs with management

Skills and Experience

• At least 18 years old to serve
• Working knowledge of standard drink recipes is a plus
• Working knowledge of various alcoholic beverage is a plus
• Working knowledge of bar equipment
• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods
• Ability to reach, bend, and frequently lift up to 30 pounds
