Controller - Elevator Industry

Position Overview

The Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations while providing strategic financial leadership in the elevator industry. This role combines technical accounting expertise with deep industry knowledge to drive financial excellence and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management amp; Reporting

  • Direct all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Manage the annual audit process and relationship with external auditors
  • Develop and maintain cash flow projections and treasury management
  • Oversee contract review process for elevator maintenance agreements and major modernization projects

Industry-Specific Duties

  • Monitor and analyze project costs specific to elevator installation, maintenance, and modernization
  • Evaluate pricing strategies for service contracts, considering industry-specific factors like equipment type, age, and usage patterns
  • Track key performance indicators specific to the elevator industry (e.g., service response times, callback rates, completion rates)
  • Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and reporting requirements

Strategic Planning amp; Analysis

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop financial strategies and growth initiatives
  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Provide financial analysis for major capital investments in equipment and technology

Team Leadership amp; Operations

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA certification
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience

  • Advanced Excel and ERP system expertise

Preferred
