Job Description

Rainier Title has two unique leadership opportunities.  We are hiring a Branch Manager for our office in Gig Harbor and a Branch Manager for Thurston county.  The Branch Manager plans and directs the operations of the team to deliver unparalleled, exceptional service to our customers.  This work requires a thorough understanding of escrow and title services, knowledge of escrow procedures and terminology, sales and service techniques, and an understanding of legal documents related to the sale of property.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

In addition to leading the team on a daily basis, the Branch Manager performs duties in a number of areas.

  • Provides customers with escrow services as prescribed by company policy, practices and procedures. Closes complex or large premium escrows at customer request or when business conditions warrant involvement.
  • Plans procedures and assigns, supervises, trains, coordinates and reviews the work of personnel engaged in technical and clerical work involved in preparation for loan transactions on real property for which title is being insured; supervises construction loan disbursement services where offered.
  • Answers very complex question regarding escrow and closings.
  • Determines market trends by analyzing current business activities which includes reviewing literature, statistics of escrow orders, and other business-related data; works with sales staff to plan business development activities to improve sales and maintain good working rapport with clients.
  • Coordinates with sales management the planning and implementation of marketing programs to increase escrow service revenues.
  • Keeps abreast of changes in regulations which may affect closings and related work. Updates manuals as changes in regulations affect company practices.
  • Completes various reports pertaining to escrow income, personnel and budget as requested by management. Must have the ability to operate in a paperless environment and be proficient with computers/software and email.
  • Periodically audits escrow files to verify closings are being processed in accordance with company guidelines.

 

Education and Experience

  • High school graduate/equivalent with at least five years of escrow experience, including complex residential and commercial transactions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Supervision experience of a real estate, finance, or banking operations staff, with supervisory experience of an escrow staff preferred. 
  • Post high school courses in real estate principals and real estate law, with courses in bookkeeping and mathematics, preferred.
  • LPO License is required and Notary preferred.

 

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of the purpose and use of title insurance, sales and service techniques; of legal descriptions and legal documents related to the sale of real property; escrow procedures and terminology; and of computing interest and pro-rating taxes.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, direct, and evaluate the work of others. 
  • Ability to generate a feeling of trust and confidence, and establish and maintain effective relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Windows operating system and Microsoft Office products (including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Publisher), and Google Mail & Aps. Resware preferred, escrow closing software proficient.
  • Strong team building and interpersonal skills.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
