Job Description:

Network Designs, Inc. is actively seeking a Hardware Lead to manage our efforts in optimizing information systems operations. This crucial role involves comprehensive responsibility for technical guidance in planning, directing, and monitoring the operational activities of our information systems. The Hardware Lead will play a pivotal role in planning machine modifications or additional equipment to enhance system capacity, preparing operational cost estimates for current and proposed projects, and evaluating vendor proposals for hardware purchases. Additionally, this role encompasses the management of related outsourcing contracts and service levels, directing the compilation of records and reports related to production, machine malfunction, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will provide expert advice on organizational, procedural, and workflow plans, methods, and procedures analysis, and analyze workflow plans and operating system(s) performance, recommending changes to improve processing and utilization.

Note: Position is contingent on contract award.

Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance as required by contract.
• This position is onsite at a DOJ location in Falls Church, VA.

Skills and Qualifications :

• Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years' related experience or 7+ years equivalent experience.

• Technical or IT management certification preferred

• Proven experience in managing technical support or operational teams in an IT environment

• Strong understanding of information system architecture, including identify and access management, data/system backup and recovery, platform management, application hosting, mobility services, and networking.

• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills

• Proficient in evaluating vendor proposals and managing outsourcing contracts

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Experience with ITIL or ISO frameworks, ITSM tools like ServiceNow, and processes related to change management preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervise the staging of all IT hardware to deploy to the production environment
• Supervise the preparation of equipment to be shipped to the field sites with all baselines preloaded and configured
• Manage the setup of the necessary baseline configurations for all application hardware.
• Provide technical guidance for planning, directing, and monitoring information systems operations.
• Plan and recommend machine modifications or additional equipment to enhance system capacity.
• Prepare operational cost estimates for current and proposed projects
• Evaluate vendor proposals for hardware purchases and manage related outsourcing contracts and service levels.
• Direct the compilation of records and reports concerning production, machine malfunction, and maintenance

• Advise on organizational, procedural, and workflow plans, methods, and procedures analysis.
• Analyze the results of workflow plans, monitor operating systems, and recommend changes to improve processing and utilization.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
• Conduct regular system audits and support 3rd-party assessments as directed.
• Collaborate on feasibility studies, systems planning, and technical innovations to advance customer service delivery capabilities.
• Support extended hours and weekend support as required by mission or emergencies.
