Estimator (Steel)

ParkerBeth Search Partners is seeking a talented and energized Structural Steel Estimator for one of our key clients in Milwaukee. This is a full-time opportunity with a strong salary and benefits plan upon transitioning to a permanent employee.

Our client is one of the nation’s top union structural steel erecting companies with offices in Wisconsin, Arizona, and Kansas and projects nationwide. In business for over 45 years, the firm has grown significantly in the last five years and continues to expand in scope and territory to service a large and diverse client base such as Amazon, Ford, and Target as well as top construction firms and steel fabricators.

Position Summary:

Top Requirements for the Estimator:

Manage all assigned steel erection/fabrication projects to ensure they are completed profitably and with a high client satisfaction level.

• Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation accurately.
• prepare and estimate steel erection projects.
• Prepare take-offs, and estimate field erection production rates, equipment requirements, general conditions, materials, and buyout items to prepare a thorough estimate.
• Prepare detail-oriented and accurate estimates to meet assigned deadlines.
• Collaborate with the operations team regarding the fabrication and erection process.
• Appraise and communicate to the management team any potential risks and/or special conditions in the estimate that may impact the project.
• Interact professionally with clients, partners, and vendors in order to develop rapport and properly service their needs.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of the structural steel erection process.
• At least 3 years of structural steel erection estimating experience or steel fabrication estimating.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret construction documents.
• Experience with MS Office Suite. Experience with OST software is preferred but not required.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Connection with Milwaukee fabricators and contractors is a plus.
