Full Job Description:

RCSI is seeking a Concrete & Steel Construction Specialist to contribute to the construction of solar steel projects by executing high-quality concrete work, including footings, foundations, sidewalks, and large pours. This hands-on role involves working collaboratively with the steel and electrical teams to keep projects on schedule. The ideal candidate has experience in commercial construction, knowledge of solar or steel construction, and a drive to grow into leadership roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Concrete Installation: Perform all phases of concrete work, including reading and executing project plans, building forms, pouring foundations, flat work, curbs, sidewalks, and large pours.
  • Code Compliance: Ensure all work complies with local and state building codes and project requirements.
  • Team Collaboration: Work alongside steel and electrical teams to maintain project schedules and timelines.
  • Form Building & Foundation Work: Build and set up forms, footings, and foundations to prepare for concrete installation.
  • Task Versatility: Be willing to assist with various construction tasks, including steel and electrical work, to ensure overall project success.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and address potential on-site issues, ensuring efficient and timely project completion.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality standards are met throughout the project.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and ensure that the team adheres to established safety protocols.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in commercial solar installation or steel construction, with knowledge of concrete pouring/finishing and construction methods.
  • Technical Knowledge: Expertise in building foundations, footings, and forms, with the ability to calculate pitch and ensure level structures.
  • Leadership Potential: Strong desire to grow into leadership roles, managing teams and contributing to larger project success.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Sharp analytical skills to resolve on-site issues quickly and effectively.
  • Equipment Proficiency: Skilled in operating equipment such as telehandlers, skid steers, man lifts, and scissor lifts.
  • Travel Availability: Must be willing to travel for projects, working out of town on a 4x10 schedule (Monday to Thursday) with overnight stays as needed.
