Job Title:            Program Manager – Steel / Manufacturing

Location:           Fredericksburg / Stafford, VA 22554 (Onsite)

Hire Type:          Permanent / Full Time

About the Role:

Client is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead cross-functional initiatives across construction operations. This role will drive production performance, oversee key programs, and partner closely with plant leadership, engineering, and supply chain teams. This is a high-impact position focused on plant operations, continuous improvement, and program execution within a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multiple manufacturing and operations programs in the construction business from planning through execution
  • Partner with plant operations, engineering, and supply chain to ensure on-time production and delivery
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, operational excellence)
  • Oversee production planning, scheduling, and workflow optimization
  • Manage program timelines, budgets, and performance metrics
  • Identify risks within production, supply chain, and operations and implement mitigation plans
  • Support capital projects, including equipment installation and process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards (OSHA) and company policies
  • Provide regular reporting and updates to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Program Management, Project Management, or Operations Management
  • Background in construction, steel industry.

Experience with:

  • Plant operations / production environments
  • Supply chain and production planning
  • Cross-functional program leadership
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in steel, metals, or metal fabrication
  • PMP certification or similar
  • Engineering or operations-related degree
  • Experience leading plant-level initiatives or capital projects
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish & English)
