Position Summary

Binford Supply is seeking a dependable and skilled Steel Welder to join our fabrication team in Sunnyvale, TX. This position focuses on MIG welding galvanized steel for production and custom fencing products.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of hands-on steel welding experience, specifically including galvanized steel welding experience within that timeframe. Candidates must be able to read blueprints, work efficiently in a fast-paced fabrication environment, and consistently produce quality welds.



Pay: $19.00 an hour to start; re-evaluate for a pay increase within 3-6 months


Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on galvanized steel components used in fencing products
  • Manufacture and fabricate metal parts based on production and custom fabrication needs
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and measurements accurately
  • Set up and maintain welding equipment for proper operation
  • Cut, grind, and finish materials to meet quality standards
  • Inspect finished work to ensure weld quality, strength, and accuracy
  • Verify measurements and material usage during fabrication
  • Assist with equipment repairs, modifications, and installations as needed
  • Operate shop equipment and forklifts (if trained)
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 1 year of steel welding experience required
  • Must have galvanized steel welding experience within that 1 year
  • MIG welding experience required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
  • Familiarity with welding tools, grinders, saws, and fabrication equipment
  • Basic math and measuring skills
  • Ability to lift, stand, bend, and perform repetitive physical work
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Must be able to pass a weld test
