Job description

Overview System One is working with a manufacturer in the Tulsa area to place a Structural Fabrication Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily fabrication operations, including welders and fitters
  • Schedule manpower and assign work based on the master production schedule
  • Review upcoming work and adjust labor, sequencing, and resources as needed
  • Order materials and ensure availability to support fabrication schedules
  • Coordinate and manage subcontracted fabrication work
  • Build, modify, and maintain fabrication fixtures and jigs to improve efficiency and consistency
  • Monitor quality, productivity, and safety throughout the department
  • Enforce shop procedures, safety rules, and work standards
  • Hold employees accountable for performance, attendance, quality, and safety
  • Troubleshoot fabrication issues and work with management or engineering to resolve them
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements
  • Communicate shop status, delays, and needs clearly to management
  • Manage subcontractors or outside fabrication vendors
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in structural steel or heavy fabrication
  • Previous supervisory, lead, or foreman experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes and structural fabrication methods
  • Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and fabrication documents
  • Experience with scheduling labor, coordinating materials, and meeting production deadlines
  • Proven ability to lead crews and enforce accountability
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Willingness to be hands-on when needed
  • Microsoft Office Suite โ€“ basic working knowledge (Outlook, Excel, Word)
