Job description

The Structural Steel Project Manager will oversee medium-scale projects valued between $50,000 and $2 million, managing a team of 4 to 10 members. This role involves coordinating project phases from planning through completion, ensuring that budgets and schedules are met while maintaining compliance with safety standards. Occasional travel is required to monitor project progress and engage with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage structural steel projects from preconstruction through to closeout
  • Manage budgets and control costs throughout project lifecycles
  • Keep track of any design changes, RFIs, drawing updates, etc. that will impact steel erection. Effectively share any and all updates with ironworkers as needed.
  • Allocate resources effectively to maximize team productivity
  • Negotiate and oversee contracts with clients and subcontractors
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders
  • Coordinate schedules to ensure timely project delivery
  • Enforce safety management practices in compliance with regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in structural steel project management
  • OSHA Safety Certification
  • Proficiency in budgeting and cost control
  • Strong knowledge of risk management principles
  • Familiarity with construction safety standards
  • Leadership skills with ability to manage medium-sized teams
